Bus Ministry

Bus Ministry

The Bus Ministry of the Stow Falls Baptist church ministers in 4 local cities, involving anywhere from 8 to 10 workers every Sunday, and ministering to approximately 40 to 50 people ranging from 4- year-olds all the way to adults. Through the use of a 72 passenger bus, and 2  fifteen passenger vans,  the ministry reaches into Cuyahoga Falls, North Hill in Akron, Tallmadge, and  Stow.

The Bus ministry is led by Mr. Adam Barger, who took the ministry in August of 2006, when the previous leader was called of God to start a church in West Akron. Since then, many new faces have gotten involved. The most recent addition to the ministry was in late August of 2007 when the Miller family ( Davis and children, Katy and Tommy ) took over a route in North Hill. The Wilkes family ( Tim & Gloria ) with Andrew Barger run the other route in North Hill dealing predominately with a distinct group of people called the Karen people from the Thailand –Myanmar area of the world that have been relocated to North Hill. Mr. Adam Barger & various workers run a route into Tallmadge.

The vision of the Stow – Falls Baptist church Bus Ministry is two-fold. One, under the direct commandment of Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16, and many other like passages of scripture – the ministry strives to reach the lost in the communities it ministers in with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is prevalent on the busses when the riders are picked up to be brought to the Sunday School and remains the primary concern on the way to take the riders home. It is one of the first things discussed when the visits are made on Saturday and in the home of every new face on the busses. We do not strive to build up the church with the bus ministry for Jesus Christ said in Matthew 16:18 that He would build His church. We strive to focus on the charge of sounding forth the Gospel as the Lord Jesus Christ has asked us to do. Secondly, we understand that the Bus Ministry cannot exist without the Sunday School, and try to organize and coordinate our efforts to allow for an easy transition to and from the Sunday school, as well as, a good level of communication with the teachers to eliminate any in class difficulties that may arise as a result of the Bus ministry.

Finally, as the ministry moves into the future, we look forward to a full-size bus and many new faces and routes. If you have a desire to learn more about this ministry or be picked up,  please contact the church at 330-688-7437 and ask for Mr. Adam Barger or leave a message for him.
